Pricing your Pokémon cards to sell in Australia

Price from what cards actually sold for, not what other sellers are hoping for.

Start from recent Australian sales

Look up the exact card, printing and condition, and note the last few Australian sales and the median. If the last sale is well above the median, check whether it was a better copy or a one-off before pricing to match it.

Then look at what's for sale right now. If several copies are already listed below the recent sold prices, buyers will pick those first. Price near the cheapest comparable copy if you want a quick sale, or near the median if you're happy to wait.

Postage

For cheaper cards, a plain letter in a toploader and card saver keeps postage low. For valuable cards, tracked postage protects both you and the buyer. Either way, say clearly in the listing how it's sent. Buyers compare the total price, so a slightly higher card price with free postage often sells faster than a low price with high postage.

Check before you post it

Prices move, especially around new sets. Check the price again on the day you list, and again if a card hasn't sold after a week or two.

AusTCGpricer shows the newest Australian sale and the cheapest copy for sale right now on the same screen, so you can see both sides of the market before you set a price.
